Dan Friedkin will not withdraw his stake in AS Roma after making a takeover offer for Everton, according to Angelo Mangiante.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist posted on X that while Friedkin wants to "enter the Premier League" by buying Everton, he will not relinquish control of Roma, where his Friedkin Group owns 95.97 per cent.

The Friedkin Group are the latest in a series of potential buyers to emerge at Goodison Park following the collapse of 777 Partners' bid, with a reported £4.8billion ($6.1billion) net worth to call upon.

Everton takeover bids leave Moshiri with several options

The passing of 777 Partners' deadline to pay off a £158million loan by 31 May seems to have opened the floodgates in terms of potential investors, with Friedkin the latest of several to come to the fore after his interest was shared by Alan Myers.

Friedkin's ownership model appeared to follow a similar path to that of John Textor, who sought to sell his minority stake in Crystal Palace and buy Farhad Moshiri's 94.1 per cent majority in Everton [Kieran Maguire].

However, Textor, who also owns Lyon and Botafogo, has since confirmed to Goodison News that he is not a front-runner to buy Everton and never was.

Becoming part of a multi-club model under Friedkin's stewardship - albeit with Roma the only other club he currently owns - could be beneficial for all parties, but Everton's increasing debt and unfinished new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock may prove a stumbling block.

Moshiri's relationship with other prospective buyers like George Bell and Andy Downing could also sway his favour away from Friedkin [Daily Mail], but with the Californian billionaire only just coming onto the scene, a sizeable offer to become Everton's new owner may turn the Iranian's head.
