Everton fire sale mooted at Goodison Park as ‘ridiculous’ transfer claim emerges
Bryan King believes Everton must accept whatever they are offered for their big-name stars.
The ex-Goodison scout claims the club are in no position to negotiate “ridiculous” fees for their players.
The Liverpool Echo reported on Saturday (8 June) that Everton are holding out for a £75million transfer fee for Jarrad Branthwaite.
But King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – feels the Toffes’ stance will need to soften.
“Everton are in no position to dictate what kind of fees they are going to receive,” King said.
“They need to get money in to sort out their financial troubles. Branthwaite is the name that seems to be mentioned a lot.
“If they need to sell a player or two, which by the sounds of thing they do, they will be looking for whatever offers they can get.
“They’re in no position to be asking for ridiculous fees.”
Everton need to raise finances quickly at Goodison Park
There have been plenty of positive takeover developments at the club recently.
While that will provide supporters with some much-needed relief, the club’s problems have not yet disappeared.
It is unlikely that any takeover or cash injection will arrive before the financial year ends on 30 June.

As a result, players might still need to be sold to avoid the Toffees from once again breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
And unfortunately, it might be a case of the club taking what they can get over the next few weeks.
In other Everton news, King has blasted one player at the club after the “childish” thing he did this week.
