Andy Bell and George Downing have told Farhad Moshiri they have the immediate funding for an Everton takeover, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via its website [10 June] that the lifelong Evertonians are ready to purchase the current owner's 94 per cent stake in the club, though Moshiri is not ready to make a decision.

There are multiple candidates said to be interested in purchasing the Merseyside club, with Bell and Downing joined by the likes of Michael Dell and, more recently, Vatche Manoukian.

Andy Bell and George Downing ready for Everton takeover bid

Considering the drama and uncertainty surrounding the current takeover situation at Goodison Park, there are few options that would understand the fans' point of view better than Bell and Downing.

The duo have been lifelong Toffees fans, which would provide them with valuable insight into the club over the billionaire parties also interested in the Merseyside club.

Fans have had to endure a torrid 2023/24 campaign, mostly because of the ongoing issues surrounding 777 Partners and their attempted takeover, which fell through spectacularly in the end.

Moshiri is in need of a buyer and everyone involved wants a quick solution but ultimately the right decision has to be taken so even more patience is going to be required.

The passionate fans at Goodison Park just want to know that their club is safe, especially with whole-fire sales and administration mooted over the past few months, which should not be too much to ask.

Evertonians been through a lot of turmoil in recent times and all they want is for a chance to start looking towards a brighter, more financially sustainable future.

Hopefully, with this most recent update, Everton's takeover is nearing a conclusion.
