Everton to accept reduced fee for Jarrad Branthwaite after England snub
Bryan King believes Everton need to accept an offer for Jarrad Branthwaite as soon as possible.
The ex-Goodison scout claims the club are not in a position to wait for a big-money offer for their centre-back.
It comes after Branthwaite missed out on Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man England squad for the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany (via BBC Sport, 6 June).
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – feels this works against the Toffees.
“I’m not surprised he missed out on the squad,” King said.
“I never thought he would start at the Euros anyway.
“He has had a decent season, but I am still not of the belief that he is an £80million centre-back, and this backs that up.
“Everton are not in a position to wait for that kind of money.
“They need to get a good offer in, and the business needs to get done because time is against them at the moment.”
Jarrad Branthwaite pricetag likely to have decreased at Everton after Gareth Southgate decision
Branthwaite missing out on the Euros was not good news for Everton because if the club do want to sell him, they will likely now not get as much.
Had the young defender impressed at the tournament, his value would have increased.
But now that he has missed out on a spot in Southgate’s squad altogether, other clubs probably aren’t willing to match the Toffees’ demands.

And considering Everton’s financial position, the club need to accept whatever money they can get.
