Bryan King claims a big-name manager will be appointed at Everton if Vatche Manoukian and his consortium complete a takeover at Goodison Park.

The ex-Goodison scout believes Sean Dyche could face the axe if the consortium win the takeover race on Merseyside.

Farhad Moshiri reportedly has three firm offers to consider (via The Athletic, 11 June), with a consortium headed by British-Armenian businessman Manoukian having lodged a £400million bid for the Toffees.

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - believes their first move, should they be successful, would be to make changes in the dugout.

“If the consortium complete a takeover, that could spell trouble for Dyche,” King said.

“If they purchase Everton, they will be looking to bring a big-name manager to the club.

“It seems strange to think that Carlo Ancelotti was recently manager of Everton, and this is the most successful manager in the world.”

Dyche would be right to feel hard done by if he was to be sacked.

He has done a brilliant job keeping the Toffees in the Premier League under difficult circumstances.

In any other situation, the 52-year-old would deserve to keep his job without question.

But if a consortium of wealthy investors does acquire control at Goodison Park then they will likely want to start their reign by making a statement.

And the best way to do that might be by appointing a manager who they feel is suited to fighting higher up in the Premier League.
