Karamoko Dembele free to seal Everton transfer after what club official said

Everton could be in pole position to sign Karamoko Dembele this summer after Brest’s sporting director said that the 21-year-old will leave the French club.

HITC revealed that the Toffees (19 June) are one of several clubs who remain interested in Dembele after a positive loan spell at League One side Blackpool last season, and comments from the Ligue 1 side have provided a boost.

Speaking to L’Equipe (18 June), Brest sporting director Gregory Lorenzi confirmed that Dembele was one of four players out on loan last season who will leave the club this summer, putting Goodison Park on red alert.

Dembele remains under contract until 2026 but Brest’s willingness to move him on in the current transfer window could see the Blues bring him to Merseyside for a knock-down price.

Karamoko Dembele transfer would be solid business by Everton

Few areas of Everton’s squad need more attention this summer than their wide stocks, following a season in which the Toffees scored the second-fewest goals of any side in the Premier League.

There’s a dearth of numbers out wide too, with Dwight McNeil currently the only out-and-out winger on the Blues’ books after loanees Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma returned to their parent clubs [Bold].

Dwight McNeil is currently Everton’s only first-team winger under contract for next season.

While talks are ongoing to bring Harrison back to Goodison Park, the Toffees still need to add further depth in this area of the pitch, thus Dembele could represent a good squad rotation option.

Although his only season of playing week-in, week-out came in the English third tier with Blackpool, Dembele remains a promising winger whose talents could be unlocked in the right environment.

Financial flexibility is at a premium in the blue half of Merseyside this summer, emphasising the need for cut-price deals, and if they don’t want to splash too much cash on a potentially exciting prospect out wide, they could do far worse than bringing in Dembele [Liverpool World].
