Everton told to sign Iliman Ndiaye as negotiations continue with Marseille

Dan Bardell has suggested that Iliman Ndiaye is the sort of player Everton should be looking at this summer and would be a positive signing for Sean Dyche.

The Toffees have moved closer to signing the Senegalese international with Canal+ journalist ‘Adammser’ reporting, via X (20 June), that negotiations have ramped up.

Everton are said to want to complete the deal quickly which could see him become their first signing of the summer.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes he is the sort of player that they should be signing having left England for Marseille last year.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “He’s probably in the sort of market that Everton are going to be operating in this summer.

He is a player who was very highly rated in the Championship, he’s clearly a fantastic footballer. He might look back and think he should have given it a year in the Premier League with Sheffield United.

I think that’s the sort of move Everton should look at, someone who’s left England and not done so well so bring them back on a cheaper deal than it would have been 12 to 18 months ago.

He could develop well under Sean Dyche so that could prove to be a good signing this summer.

Everton to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille

Everton are going to need some transfer additions this summer as they look to build on a positive campaign last time out.

Dyche guided his side to Premier League safety with plenty of time to spare with one of the best defences in the league.

What may have let his side down is their potency in front of goal which may only get worse if Dominic Calvert-Lewin is to leave this summer.

With that being said, bringing in someone like Ndiaye to play behind or alongside a striker could be just what the Toffees need.

The financial frailty that the club has right now with Farhad Moshiri at the helm means loans, free transfers and cheap deals are going to be paramount.

With Dan Friedkin coming in, some of the PSR pressures may be alleviated somewhat but Ndiaye would still represent a positive piece of business moving deeper into the transfer window.
