Everton transfer news as medical update emerges on ex Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo
Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo is at risk of failing his medical at Everton amid his past struggles at Liverpool, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that there is a chance that he’s overcome his issues after his loan spell at Fiorentina, but it is hard to guarantee that he’ll be the right fit for life in the Premier League.
This comes after TuttoSport reported on 17 June that talks are being readied over a potential transfer for the Brazil international.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Melo:
“Arthur had a wretched spell at Liverpool and managed to just play one game throughout the course of their season.
“It is difficult to steelman a case for Everton signing him as with those struggles when he went to Liverpool, It may have just been an unlucky coincidence as he was injured in training, if I recall correctly.
“Given his significant injury concerns, there’s always a risk of something showing up in his medical that may affect the transfer.
“Hopefully, he has overcome any issues as he played the majority of games for Fiorentina this past season.“
Everton must avoid Arthur Melo transfer gamble
The Toffees signing Melo is a gamble despite his impressive loan spell at Fiorentina and him winning an award for the best newcomer in Serie A in 2017.
While he played 47 games in all competitions and contributed to their Europa Conference League final run, his previous Premier League experience was underwhelming, with just one appearance for Liverpool due to injury.
Everton, under new ownership, need reliable players to avoid relegation battles.

Arthur’s fitness and adaptation to the Premier League remain uncertain, making this a high-risk, low-reward signing and a gamble that the club can’t afford.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have now issued contact with their Premier League rivals to sign a midfielder who recently won the Champions League.
