Everton could still cash in on Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer despite not being forced to sell the striker before 30 June, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Following the end of the football financial year, it is reported that their hand could still be forced to comply with profit and sustainability guidelines for the 2024/25 season.

It is also stated that Calvert-Lewin is yet to agree to a new contract at Goodison Park as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal, implying the club could still be minded to sell him [TEAMtalk, 23 May].

Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer still on cards for Everton

With his contract ticking down towards expiry at the end of next season, it's making more and more sense for the Toffees to cash in on Calvert-Lewin and do their best to accommodate for what they'd lose [TEAMtalk, 22 June].

While Sean Dyche's current tactics are built around the striker's style of play and presence in the box, his side are also one that cannot afford to take financial risks this summer [Paul Brown, 23 May].

Everton
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is approaching the final 12 months of his current Everton contract.

Beto could act as a like-for-like replacement, while Youssef Chermiti and the returning Neal Maupay provide further depth up front for the Blues, so Dyche does have options if he is to lose his number nine.

Added to that is the fact that having signed Calvert-Lewin for just £1.5million in 2016, collecting a £50million fee for the striker as proposed by Bryan King [23 June] would represent a huge profit in PSR terms.

Needing to bring in funds, comply with PSR, and avoid losing the striker on a free transfer, it's becoming almost inevitable that the Toffees should, and will, wave goodbye to Calvert-Lewin this summer [Liverpool Echo, 14 May].
