Everton to make Jaden Philogene transfer decision as financial concern is mooted

Bryan King claims Everton will need to be wary in the race for Jaden Philogene.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the Hull City winger will move to the club where he is being offered the most money.

As reported by The Atheltic (10 July), Aston Villa have activated a matching rights clause for Philogene after Ipswich Town made an £18million bid for the 22-year-old.

The Toffees are continuing to pursue a deal for the forward.

However, King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - has suggested they need to be careful.

“Philogene will go where the best package is," King said.

"Therefore, if Ipswich or Villa are offering him the best deal, why would he say no?"

"At the moment, I think Ipswich and Villa are probably more attractive options for Philogene than Everton.

“Whether or not Everton increase their offer depends on player sales. They have practicality got their finances back in place, so they won’t want to ruin that now.”

The market for Philogene is looking increasingly crowded.

If the Toffees want to win the race for his signature then it appears as though they might need to increase their offer to the player himself.

However, the club have been busy in the transfer market in recent weeks, and they aren't out of the woods yet when it comes to their financial troubles.

As a result, they might be wise to let this transfer go and leave Ipswich and Villa to battle it out.
