Everton transfer update shared by Alan Myers amid Ipswich Town development

Everton are not using player links as a smokescreen as Ipswich Town have secured new signings in the transfer window, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist claims that at least two players the Toffees have been linked with in recent weeks were not realistic targets for the club.

Ipswich signed Sammie Szmodics, Jacob Greaves and Kalvin Phillips, all of whom have been linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer.

Myers wrote on X: “I know for a fact we haven’t been in for at least two of the players you’re suggesting, I don’t think that’s the case at all tbh.”

Everton have been linked with transfers for a lot of players

The Toffees were linked with Szmodics, but Myers himself stated that they were not holding talks to sign the Republic of Ireland international.

However, there was understood to be a genuine interest in Phillips [Alan Myers] despite his disastrous loan spell at West Ham last season.

Even Greaves was being reported about but it was pretty clear from an initial stage that he was heading to Ipswich. [Athletic]

However, it’s not like the Toffees are being beaten to transfers by Ipswich so it’s not something that fans should worry about.

Hopefully, there will be more activity in the coming days as the club desperately need a new midfielder and left-back.

Sean Dyche has proven that he deserves to be backed by the board and they’ve got no reason not to do exactly that.

In other Everton news, Alan Myers has issued an update on the club’s quest to sign a new left-back before the transfer deadline.
