Bryan King claims Orel Mangala will be a "quality addition" for Everton at Goodison Park.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the Toffees need some brand-new signings before the transfer window slams shut on Friday (30 August).

As reported by Fabrizio Romano and Hugo Guillemet via X on Wednesday (28 August), Mangala has accepted the conditions of his initial loan move to Everton, which includes an option to make the deal permanent.

Either way, King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - feels that this is a positive signing, at least in the short term.

"This sounds like a good addition to the squad me," King said.

"After watching them against Tottenham, any quality addition would be positive for Everton and for Dyche.

"Therefore, if they can get that deal over the line then it must be a plus for them. They certainly need some brand-new players into the club."

Everton set to sign Orel Mangala at Goodison Park

It isn't quite clear whether the Toffees' purchase clause within the loan agreement is an option or an obligation. As a result of some conflicting reports, supporters might be left slightly confused at Goodison.

However, what does appear to be clear is the fact that Mangala will be joining the club on a season-long loan.

Therefore, regardless of purchase options, fans will just be happy that they are bringing a player through the door after such a miserable start to the Premier League season.
