Serge Aurier has sent a message to Orel Mangala via social media after the midfielder joined Everton on deadline day.

The Toffees confirmed [30 August] that the former Nottingham Forest man has signed on a season-long loan from Lyon, arriving after making his move to France permanent earlier this summer.

Signed as Sean Dyche's seventh addition of the summer transfer window, before Armando Broja's last-gasp addition, the manager has been handed one more figure in midfield.

Reacting to Mangala's Instagram post on Saturday (31 August), Aurier wrote: "Mangality," with salute, heart and muscle emojis.

Everton add Orel Mangala to midfield ranks on deadline day

Following the opening two matches of the Premier League campaign, a 3-0 loss to Brighton before a 4-0 thumping from Tottenham, the midfield looked to be Dyche's biggest concern.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the transfer business at Goodison Park, with Dyche and Kevin Thelwell adding multiple attacking threats to the squad. However, it is still lacking.

Even after James Garner's return from injury, joining Idrissa Gana Gueye and Tim Iroegbunam in the middle of the park, an unlucky case of injuries could see the Toffees in a very sticky situation.

Mangala can add some much-needed experience to the midfield at Goodison Park, especially given his time at The City Ground with Nottingham Forest before earning a move to Ligue 1.

He made 53 appearances for the Reds before going on loan to Lyon, eventually making the move permanent, but it appears that he could not stay away from the Premier League for too long.

Everton can now benefit from his presence in the team, with a fully-fledged Belgian international coming into the starting XI, but Dyche was forced to be without him when facing Bournemouth on Saturday 31 August.
