Bryan King is concerned about another American investment group taking over a Premier League club after the Friedkin Group agreed to buy Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout doesn't want to see any radical changes, driven by American owners, made to English football.

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - is curious to see how Friedkin behaves should he complete his takeover.

“The thing that is frightening me a little bit is that there are a lot of English football clubs owned by Americans now," King said.

“I keep wondering if changes are going to be made if all these Americans keep coming in. For example, in America there is no promotion or relegation.

“Therefore, that is going to be interesting to see how they handle that.”

Dan Friedkin and the Friedkin Group to complete Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

Fans are always concerned about changes in football. After the recent Super League fiasco, it is hard to blame supporters for feeling sceptical.

Therefore, as brand-new owners with less knowledge of English football continue to invest in the Premier League, fears will of course arise that they will try to make changes.

There have already been suggestions in recent years of Premier League matches being played in America, something which would certainly not be welcomed by supporters.

However, Everton are in desperate need of help. Therefore, those more long-term concerns will need to be shelved as they seek short-term solutions, with Alan Myers providing an update via X (2 October) on whether the Friedkin Group's takeover remains on track.
