Premier League chiefs to attend meeting as Man City send ‘explosive’ email to Everton
Premier League chiefs are set to attend a meeting after Manchester City sent out an “explosive” email to Everton and the rest of the Premier League, according to The Times.
The newspaper reported via their website on 9 October that the Premier League’s “most senior powerbrokers” are attending an emergency meeting next week to discuss the fall-out from a legal battle with Man City over rules that concern commercial deals between clubs and related companies.
This comes after the English champions contacted all other 19 top-flight clubs, including Everton, to hit out at Premier League chief executive Richard Masters.
The Toffees, as well as Chelsea and Newcastle United, notably backed Man City in their legal battle with the league.
PL chiefs to meet urgently after Man City send email to Everton
Man City have been in entangled in a legal dispute with Premier League over Associated Party Transactions (APT) rulings.
While both sides claimed victory on Monday (7 October), a tribunal cited that certain elements of the rules were unlawful.
Masters then sent out a summary of the tribunal’s report, which Man City claimed was “misleading”.
As a result, the Citizens issued an email of their own to their rivals and the Premier League, warning of further legal action.
With things escalating further, Premier League chiefs are attending an emergency meeting in London next week to discuss matters further.

Everton were among three clubs who submitted evidence in support of Man City’s arguments at the hearing.
This was despite the Merseyside outfit potentially facing PSR consequences of their own.
Other clubs are, meanwhile, “deeply concerned” by Man City’s aggressive approach, which one club chief labelled as “bullying behaviour”.
In other Everton news, Asmir Begovic has said that the players are not distracted amid The Friedkin Group’s potential takeover of the club.
