Roy Keane smashes into Jordan Pickford live on air after what Everton star did tonight

Roy Keane has slammed Everton ace Jordan Pickford after his mistake nearly cost England a goal to Greece on Thursday night (10 October).

Pickford's dithering outside his own penalty area almost presented the visitors with a first-half lead at Wembley, only for Levi Colwill to bail out his goalkeeper with a terrific goal-line clearance.

The Toffees stopper made two first-half errors in quick succession, as Konstantinos Mavropanos' header into the net was disallowed for offside after Pickford was all at sea coming for a delivery.

"That spreads a message throughout the team - the lack of concentration levels, the lack of urgency," Keane said live on ITV [10 October, 20:42].

"What's he doing? Do it quickly - not a good message from Pickford to send."

Pickford was the hero for Everton last weekend, keeping out villain of the day Anthony Gordon's penalty attempt to preserve a vital clean sheet against Newcastle United.

Fast forward six days and he had team-mate Colwill and the assistant's flag to thank, albeit he did go on to concede in the second half.

Pickford is experienced enough to recover well from mistakes, which are admittedly rare in an England jersey and decreasingly apparent with the Toffees.

His difficult moments keeping guard have often come in the distant past, and he has shaped himself into a reliable number one who rarely needs pushing to be at his best - which is a good job as with both Everton and England, his position as number one is under absolutely no threat.

It was a poor error and an uncertain start, but that's what teammates are for.
