Everton striker Beto mooted to quit as Roma-Friedkin news emerges
Everton striker Beto could be on his way to Roma to be a replacement for the under-performing Artem Dovbyk, according to Il Messaggero.
The news outlet reported on 10 October that the synergy between the two clubs, given the imminent Friedkin Group takeover, could begin in the January transfer window.
Beto moved to Goodison Park last summer for a staggering £26million fee, according to the Guardian.
Everton must cash in on Beto and make a big-money demand to Roma
If the Toffees manage to secure a fee between £15-20million for Beto from Roma, it would represent a strategic financial recovery for the club.
Given Beto’s underwhelming performance and adaptation struggles since his £26million move, this transfer could transform what might be seen as a failed investment into a mitigated loss.
This move would not only free up squad space for a more suitable striker but also provide the club with funds to reinvest in the squad, potentially finding a player who better fits their system or financial model.
Moreover, with Beto’s exit, Everton could look towards younger, more dynamic talent or an experienced forward who can immediately contribute, aligning better with their competitive ambitions.
Given the arrival of the Friedkins, this transfer would be a lot easier to complete and if there’s a willingness from all parties, then it should go ahead.

It only remains to be seen how much money the Italian side will be willing to cough up for the Portuguese striker.
