Dan Friedkin involvement in behind-the-scenes Everton move speculated as Rooney is hired

Bryan King has speculated that Dan Friedkin might already be influencing decisions behind the scenes at Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout is interested to know who is behind the recent reshuffling in the scouting department.

According to the Athletic (10 October), several changes are on the way in the club's scouting department. Nathan Fisher, formerly a European scout for the club, has been promoted to head of emerging talent after Dan Rice left the club last season.

Colin Rooney has been hired to take Fisher's place, and his remit will include coverage of Spain, Portugal and Italy.

And King - speaking exclusively to Goodison News - has speculated Friedkin might have had a hand in these changes.

“If he is going to be looking at those three countries, he wants to be living there,” King said.

“All I can say is when David Moyes introduced the European scouting network, it worked very well. I wonder who has instigated this if it is Sean Dyche or Friedkin ahead of his arrival at the club.

“That for me will be very interesting, seeing who has brought this in.”

Dan Friedkin already influencing decisions behind-the-scenes at Everton?

Friedkin could prove to be something of a saviour at Goodison Park should the Friedkin Group's takeover go through.

Therefore, if he is already making moves behind the scenes, it just demonstrates how invested he is.

While there is no guarantee that Friedkin was involved, this reshuffling is another example of the Toffees attempting to grow and move forward after a miserable few years.
