Alan Brazil makes Everton v Southampton claim ahead of Premier League clash

Alan Brazil doesn’t believe the clash between Everton and Southampton is going to be an “easy” one for the Toffees.

Sean Dyche’s men will be looking to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to six games at St Mary’s on Saturday and will be hoping to make their way up the Premier League table as they currently sit in 16th place.

While speaking to an Everton fan live on talkSPORT (1 November, 08:10am), Brazil shared his thoughts on the Toffees’ chances against the Saints.

“Southampton v Everton won’t be easy down at Saints,” he said.

Everton need to win Russell Martin’s Southampton

While the Toffees may have found themselves in a decent run of form recently, it feels like there’s still more that could come from the team.

Dwight McNeil has been Everton’s star man this term but with the attacker now likely to miss Saturday’s clash at St. Marys due to injury, it’ll be down to Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom to lead the Toffees’ attack.

They’ve won two out of their last five Premier League games which they’ll no doubt be using for extra motivation in the clash.

Only time will tell what version of the Merseyside outfit will come out against Martin’s men but seen as though Dyche has already had a behind-the-scenes conversation with star man Dominic Calvert-Lewin about his recent poor form, the striker could put in a solid performance and help Everton get all three points.

The fact their last encounter resulted in the Saints knocking the Toffees out of the Carabao Cup on penalties will also likely have a part to play and could cause Everton to go into the game with a bit of fire in their stomachs.
