Juventus may look to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the near future, according to Calciomercato.

The Italian news outlet reports [19 November] that the 22-year-old could be an "idea" for the Old Lady in the coming months as they look to fix their defence

It is said that Branthwaite's exit could be "inevitable" if Everton don't progress quickly enough after struggles in the Premier League recently.

Jarrad Branthwaite pivotal at Everton

Branthwaite is arguably the best player at Everton, and it's no surprise that top clubs like Real Madrid are being linked with the defender [CaughtOffside, 10 November].

The centre-back's importance to the Blues can be highlighted by the fact that Sean Dyche wasn't able to get a win in the Premier League until the 22-year-old started against Crystal Palace on 28 September.

Since then, the Toffees have picked up their form, although it still hasn't been good enough, and the former Burnley head coach looks to be on thin ice at Goodison.

Besides being an exceptional player, Branthwaite is also a valuable asset for Everton, and it'll be interesting to see what the Friedkins decide to do with the defender once they complete their takeover.

The Toffees should have their superstars on hand when they move to Bramley-Moore Dock, so it would be unfortunate for the Blues faithful to see the 22-year-old depart soon.

But the Englishman has had his fair share of injury problems during his time at the Toffees, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the club cash in on the centre-back and build a more balanced squad with the potentially high transfer fee they would receive.
