Carragher interrupts Nevile shouting Salah amid Everton v Wolves controversy
Jamie Carragher interrupted Gary Neville trying to talk about a controversial VAR decision as Everton beat Wolves 4-0 at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
The Blues beat Wolves in a crucial clash towards the bottom of the Premier League table to go five points clear of the relegation zone.
They would end up beating their fellow strugglers by four goals to nil but after Ashley Young had opened the scoring, the Toffees had a James Tarkowski goal ruled out for an offside.
The decision was controversial but as Neville went to talk to the panel about it on the Overlap live watchalong [4 December], saying: "Everton's second goal been ruled out, you're back in the game." he was interrupted by Carragher.
The former Liverpool man screamed: "I don't like that Mo, I don't like that Mo."
Was VAR wrong to disallow Everton goal?
James Tarkowski rose highest to head McNeil's free-kick home but Orel Mangala was judged to have interfered with play from an offside position so the goal was chalked off.
In a stunning admission to Goodison News, Former FIFA referee Keith Hackett believes that the goal should have stood and if he was the referee, he would have given it.
Former PGMOL chief Hackett thinks that the Premier League may have told referees to "clamp down" on holding and blocking during set-pieces.
However, another former FIFA referee Mark Clattenburg believes that it should not have stood and Michael Salisbury made the correct decision.
He said on Amazon Prime [4 December, 7:53 pm]: "With that block, the player was in an offside position. He was quite right, it was a subjective call given offside.”
Ultimately it ended up having no impact on the Toffees but on another day it could have been the difference between three points and zero in a huge relegation' six-pointer'.
