Theo Walcott stunned by what he saw Pickford do in Everton 0-0 v Arsenal

Theo Walcott was left stunned by Jordan Pickford after what he did as Everton held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw.

The Toffees travelled to the Emirates on Saturday [14 December] and put on a solid defensive display that meant their opponents could not get anything despite their possession and shots at goal.

Pickford proved to be a hero for the Blues once again as the England international pulled off an impressive save from close range.

Speaking on Match of the Day [15 December, 1:07:29], Walcott was full of praise for his former teammate as he said: "You've got a goalkeeper who can just pull out saves like this. I mean it's a fantastic save in the end, he's unsighted."

Another step in the right direction for Everton

Blues fans won't want to get ahead of themselves after what has been a very slow start to their season but this was a great point against Arsenal, especially away from home.

Although the Toffees didn't play much attractive football, they were effective at their jobs with the defenders and Pickford putting in a great shift to close down any threat that came their way.

The result means Everton have now lost only one of their last five games which is a positive, but three 0-0 draws in these matches shows that there is still plenty of work to be done at Goodison Park in order to turn their season around.

What's more, wins from below them in the table means that the Merseyside outfit now find themselves just three points ahead of the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

Nevertheless, there are positives to see here with Sean Dyche's side showing they can be well-prepared for their opponents.

What is needed now is delivering some consistency while also sorting out their lack of scoring as soon as possible.
