Fiorentina want to sign Calvert-Lewin as Everton exit news emerges – Di Marzio

Fiorentina are interested in signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Sports journalist reported via his personal website on Friday (20 December) that the Serie A club could make an attempt to sign the striker as early as the January transfer window.

La Viola are eyeing an “operation” to take the England international to Florence as he enters the final six months of his contract on Merseyside.

The Toffees are at a crossroads with regard to Calvert-Lewin’s future at Goodison Park as it is unclear if he plans to put pen to paper on a new deal with them.

Sean Dyche’s side risk losing the centre-forward for nothing if he lets his contract run down and leaves on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Therefore, the Merseyside-based club, who are interested in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane [TBR Football] must decide if they would rather sell him for a cut-price fee in the upcoming transfer window.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, are keen on strengthening their options in attack and have, therefore, turned their attention towards Calvert-Lewin.

The Italian outfit already have former Everton frontman Moise Kean in their ranks, meaning a reunion could be on the cards.

However, with Dyche and co in the middle of a relegation battle, it is likely that they are reluctant to sanction a January transfer for the 27-year-old.

He has made 15 Premier League appearances for Everton this season, grabbing two goals and an assist in the process.
