Jarrad Branthwaite picked up an injury as Everton secured a 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Boxing Day, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The news outlet wrote on X that the England international even looked in pain but finished the game at the Etihad Stadium.

The game was deadlocked at the break and courtesy of a Jordan Pickford penalty save, it remained that way until the full-time whistle.

Via X, the Echo wrote: "Jarrad Branthwaite down injured. Looks in pain."

Everton will be hoping Jarrad Branthwaite does not suffer a long-term injury

Given that Branthwaite was able to complete the entire match against City despite being injured, the likelihood of his injury being severe is significantly reduced.

Typically, players with serious injuries would be substituted out to prevent further damage, but the 22-year-old ability to finish the game suggests that any injury he sustained might be less severe.

If he is indeed injured, it's probable that it would be a short-term issue, allowing for a quick recovery.

Everton will be particularly hopeful that this is the case, as Branthwaite has already faced several injury setbacks this season, which have impacted his availability and performance.

The club relies on his defensive solidity, so any extended absence would be detrimental.

Fans will be hoping that this one is not too serious and he's back as soon as possible if he is to miss any game.
