Atalanta are interested in signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton, according to Alfredo Pedulla.

The Italian journalist reported via his website on 2 January that the Serie A table-toppers have sought information about signing the striker.

With the 27-year-old's contract expiring at the end of the season, he has "requests" from different leagues and final decision is expected soon.

The Toffees' last offer was met with a refusal, but they may make another attempt to convince him to stay at Goodison Park.

Everton could lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Serie A

Calvert-Lewin has entered the final six months of his contract at Everton and is now free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

It appears there is significant interest in the former Sheffield United man in Italy, with Fiorentina also linked with a move for him.

While La Viola could try to sign him as early as January [Gianluca Di Marzio], it is unclear if Atalanta have such intentions.

Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin's performances for the Toffees this season have left much to be desired, with the Englishman having only two goals and an assist to show for his 18 Premier League appearances.

After persisting with him for months, Sean Dyche finally axed him in favour of Armando Broja in the 2-0 loss against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, 29 December.

It remains to be seen if he will be drafted back into the starting line-up against Bournemouth on Saturday (4 January) amid the ongoing transfer speculation.
