The Toffees desperately need a reliable goalscorer if they are to survive this season and stay in the top flight for the move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium next season.
It would be an absolute disaster if they start the new era in the Championship and they therefore they need to do whatever they can to avoid that scenario.
