Jamie Carragher destroys Everton boss Sean Dyche live on Sky Sports MNF
Jamie Carragher has slammed Everton manager Sean Dyche for not managing to implement a proper style of play.
The former Liverpool captain picked out footage from the recent 1-0 loss to Bournemouth to drive home the point of why the Toffees are lacking quality in possession.
Thus far, The Friedkin Group have opted to not sack Dyche with Goodison News learning that it will take a multi-million fee to part ways with him.
Speaking on MNF, with the video being shared by Sky Sports Premier League on X, Carragher said: “Sums Everton up. Really direct, no real quality.
“We’re talking about Sean Dyche, how he likes to set his team up, how he likes to play, the patterns of play of maybe getting players into these positions, not really, but that is awful from Dyche.
“There is a real lack of quality when you see them on the ball but it’s not helped by the style of Sean Dyche.”
Everton fans will undoubtedly be in agreement with Jamie Carragher
Carragher’s criticism of Dyche’s management resonates deeply with many fans, encapsulating their main grievance with the current setup at Goodison Park.
His approach, characterised by its directness and lack of intricate play, has often left the Toffees looking clueless in possession.
The loss to Bournemouth served as a stark example, with Carragher highlighting the absence of any discernible pattern or quality in their gameplay.
This isn’t just a tactical discussion but touches on the broader sentiment among supporters who feel that victories under Dyche are more a result of individual moments of brilliance rather than a coherent team strategy.
The fact that even a former Liverpool figure like Carragher, who isn’t expected to be sympathetic to Everton’s plight, echoes the fans’ frustrations underscores the widespread dissatisfaction.

While The Friedkin Group has refrained from sacking Dyche, the lack of an appealing footballing identity under his reign has left many longing for a change.
