Everton new manager: Friedkins make quick fire moves after Sean Dyche sack

Everton have already started talks to hire a new manager after Sean Dyche was sacked on Thursday, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines are taking charge of the FA Cup third-round clash against Peterborough on 9 January at Goodison Park (Sky Sports).

The Italian journalist reports that the duo are not expected to be in charge for the long-term, with the Friedkins already working quickly on a new head coach.

Everton to hire new manager quickly

The Friedkins clearly mean business and have decided to end things before they get any worse at Goodison Park, with relegation a real possibility.

Everton simply cannot drop to the Championship with the financial pressure on the club and move to Bramley-Moore Dock just around the corner.

Dyche was not helping that cause whatsoever, with his side simply dreadful in the final third and relying on Jordan Pickford to drag them out of danger every week.

All Coleman and Baines have to do is pick up a simple win over Peterborough in the FA Cup and then hand over the reins, it shouldn’t be that hard.

Having said that, this is Everton we are speaking about and everyone knows nothing is done easy.

Dyche deserves credit for staying up when battling points deductions at Goodison Park, but he had taken this club as far as he could, and now it is time for a fresh start.

The Friedkins clearly agree.
