Beto exit: Everton transfer twist as another Serie A side make approach

Beto has another suitor ahead of a potential Goodison Park exit as Serie A side Como are to approach Everton over a move, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Italian journalist reported via his website (13 January) that Como are preparing to test the waters for Beto as an alternative to Torino forward Andrea Belotti.

Torino are reportedly leading the race for Beto’s signature after becoming obsessed with the player, but talks have since stalled this month due to the Blues “monster” demands [Tuttomercatoweb].

Everton to sell Beto to Como after Torino delay

While the Guinea Bissau international’s stint in the Premier League has been far from a success, he is proving to be a hot commodity in the January transfer window.

He looked set to secure his return to Italy after he was spotted at Manchester Airport on 5 January, but Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers quickly poured cold water on an impending deal with Torino.

However, Beto has a fresh opportunity to start anew at Goodison Park with the arrival of David Moyes and could very well remain on Merseyside until the end of the season.

With Armando Broja suffering another injury setback in the 2-0 win against Peterborough United (9 January), his potential long-term absence leaves little opportunity for either Beto or Calvert-Lewin to leave the Toffees.

Furthermore, Como are wary of the Blues’ demands that have delayed a potential deal with Torino – Moyes may have to rely on his two senior forwards until the end of the season.
