David Moyes already looks set to miss out on one of his Everton transfer targets as The Friedkin Group (TFG) bids to reinforce his squad.

The mood around Goodison Park will undoubtedly be positive as the Toffees beat Tottenham 3-2 in the Premier League on Sunday (19 January).

Moyes finally managed to get the best out of the Blues' attack, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin getting back to his best with a goal.

Iliman Ndiaye has also been one of the best players at the Merseyside outfit this season, giving the Scottish manager some hope in the relegation battle.

But the Toffees could do with more quality down the right wing, and a move for Olympique Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah in the winter transfer window looked close after an agreement was reportedly already reached [Fabrice Hawkins, 16 January].

Everton to miss out on Ernest Nuamah transfer

John Textor has accepted an offer close to £28million for Botafogo forward Luiz Henrique from Zenit Saint Petersburg [L'Equipe, 19 January].

Eagle Football Holdings could now want to keep a hold of Nuamah at Lyon as they won't have a replacement for him in case of a departure.

Everton could now miss out on the 21-year-old Ghanaian winger and will have to turn their attention to other targets, with most of the above sale money going to Lyon.

Moyes has Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom at his disposal for the right-hand side of the attack, but they have been underwhelming in the current campaign.

Despite the Toffees' win over Tottenham, the threat of dropping to the Championship still looms large at the Merseyside outfit.

The Friedkins will want to give the Scottish manager the best chance to survive in the Premier League ahead of the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

What the recruitment team will do if they suffer a transfer blow with Nuamah remains to be seen.
