Alcaraz medical booked on Sunday as Everton permanent clause terms revealed
Flamengo midfielder Carlos Alcaraz will undergo a medical at Everton on Sunday, according to Bruno Lemos.
The Canal Brasil journalist reported via his personal X account on Saturday (1 February) that Alcaraz, 22, will fly out from Rio de Janeiro to England later that day.
It is understood that the former Southampton ace will join the Blues on an initial loan but it will turn into a permanent deal once he’s made eight appearances for the Merseyside club.
Alcaraz joined Flamengo from the Saints in the summer for £15million.
SBT Rio journalist Vene Casagrande claimed on Friday (31 January) that Everton will pay a similar fee once the easy-to-meet obligation-to-buy clause is triggered.
Everton agree eight-match permanent deal for Alcaraz
It’s unlikely that Everton will cast Alcaraz aside and not play him in eight matches in the second half of this season.
Orel Mangala’s season-ending ACL injury has meant he’s returned to Lyon while Tim Iroegbunam is also currently sidelined for the Blues.
Alcaraz performed well in his previous stint in England with Southampton so David Moyes is likely to put his faith in the Argentinean midfielder and start him regularly in the Premier League between now and the end of the campaign.

It sure looks as though this deal is going to happen.
Alcaraz has already shared what appears to be a goodbye message to Flamengo on his social media accounts and the Brazilian club itself has announced an agreement on their official website.
Everything is silent in England, however. Especially on Merseyside, where Everton are yet to make a peep about a deal for the Argentina Under-23 international.
There are over 48 hours to go until the transfer deadline passes though and it’s highly likely that this deal will be announced formally by the Blues well ahead of 11pm on Monday (3 February).
