
Carlos Alcaraz left with no choice but to join Everton in transfer twist
Carlos Alcaraz was left with no choice but to leave Flamengo and sign for Everton, according to O Globo.
The Argentinian news outlet reported (1 February) that the midfielder was informed that he did not fit the system under Filipe Luis.
Therefore, after finding out that he would not be playing for Flamengo again, even if he was to stay put, the 22-year-old has agreed to join Everton on loan, with an option to buy.

After confirming his departure from Flamengo, those at Goodison Park will be hoping it’s just a matter of time until this signing is complete after the Toffees had their offer accepted [Raisa Simplicio, 31 January].
There has been some confusion after suggestions that a deal is yet to be agreed [Alan Myers, 31 January] which has left supporters scratching their heads somewhat.
However, given he has departed, it will surely just be a matter of time until the Blues announce the addition of what could be another exciting young prospect at Goodison Park.
