Everton have increased the gap with the relegation zone and have given themselves a brilliant chance of avoiding the drop ahead of the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Friedkin Group’s arrival has been met with positivity from the fans, but the situation could change soon if they aren’t proactive in the transfer window.
Carlos Alcaraz looks set to join the Merseysiders in the coming hours [Raisa Simplicio, 31 January], but they evidently need more bodies in their squad, especially up front.
Beto’s brace against the Foxes must have been encouraging for Moyes to see, but he will evidently want another number nine before the transfer window closes.
