Carlos Alcaraz transfer: Everton injury clause emerges ahead of signing
Everton have an injury clause included in their deal for Carlos Alcaraz ahead of his Goodison Park transfer, according to Mauro Cezar.
The UOL journalist reported on X (2 February) that the Toffees have rights in the deal for the Flamengo attacking midfielder that would allow them to back out of buying him at the end of the loan.
The report adds that although there are some sort of “protection” clauses in the deal, it’s not known exactly what they are.
Carlos Alcaraz could transform the way that Everton play
The 2024/25 season has been a spotty one for Everton and their fans to say the least.
When Sean Dyche was in charge of the club, it felt like they had no direction and as if they were headed straight into another relegation battle.
Most fans thought this was because their team weren’t strong enough in the final third but after their 4-0 demolition of Leicester on Saturday, it’s evident that’s not the case.
The Merseyside outfit just needed someone to believe in them which is exactly what David Moyes has done.

During Alcaraz’s last Premier League stint, he was Southampton’s best player with his creative nature alongside his sheer pace both helping him become an integral part of the Saints’ team.
Abdoulaye Doucoure has done an impressive job as a number 10 this season but with Alcaraz in that central role instead, it feels like a lot more chances are going to be created and converted which is going to be essential for Everton’s survival this term.
