Everton to complete Alcaraz signing in hours, first of multiple late arrivals
Everton are expecting to complete the signing of Carlos Alcaraz in the next 24 hours, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via its website [2 February] that the Toffees are still wanting to add more faces to the current squad once the Argentine arrives from Fluminense.
Alcaraz travelled to England on Sunday to undergo a medical ahead of a move back to the Premier League [Bruno Lemos], having played for current league strugglers Southampton previously.
Everton signings still to come after Alcaraz?
David Moyes clearly means business as he attempts to bring several new faces through the Goodison Park doors before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm on 3 February.
Despite winning their last three consecutive games, the Toffees are still just nine points above the relegation zone after 23 matches, and the new manager will be keen to change this.
Sean Dyche had sleepwalked the team into a relegation dogfight, unable to pick up enough points to climb the table, but Moyes has already changed that since replacing him recently.
That is not to say that Moyes hasn’t been greeted with several major setbacks, with injuries piling up in the Finch Farm medical room, including Armando Broja, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala.
It is imperative that TFG manage to find enough funds while, importantly, keeping within the parameters of PSR, to help the new manager build a squad he is comfortable with for the remainder of the season.

Alcaraz is a very talented player, having notched eight goals in 47 appearances during his first year with the Saints, but it will take a lot more than just the 22-year-old to solve the Toffees’ current squad issues.
A new striker would certainly be welcomed at Goodison Park, though the team’s goalscoring issues finally look to be behind them after the last three victories.
In other Everton news, The Friedkin Group are readying a lucrative deal for a Goodison stay, which includes a pay rise and an extra two years.
