Chelsea make decision on Everton-linked Carney Chukwuemeka as talks held

Chelsea have told Carney Chukwuemeka that he can leave before 3 February amid recent transfer links to Everton, according to TBR Football.

The online outlet reported via their website that the Englishman has held talks with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund but Everton are also “keen” on striking a deal.

TBR Football adds that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is another player who Enzo Maresca has sanctioned the exit of as we get closer to the winter transfer window deadline.

Everton should go after Carney Chukwuemeka

Now that Orel Mangala has been ruled out for the rest of the season and is likely to be on his way back to France to rehabilitate, David Moyes has been left somewhat short in the centre of the park.

While James Garner has just returned from injury and Tim Iroegbunam is also likely to return soon, it still feels like an extra set of legs for the centre of the park could be useful.

However, in order for the Toffees to bring the former Aston Villa man in on loan, they’ll need to get rid of either Jack Harrison or Armando Broja to free up a domestic loan spot.

Which is why moving for Chukwuemeka makes a lot of sense as Everton could send Broja back but then still be taking a weekly wage off of Chelsea’s bill by adding the midfielder to their ranks.

Only time will tell what Everton have planned for the future but at the moment, moving for the Englishman seems to make the most sense.
