BBC journalist blasts ‘nonsense’ Everton £10m transfer development
Everton appear to have a bid accepted for West Brom ace Tom Fellows but that has been described as “nonsense” by Steve Hermon.
The Toffees have reportedly had a £10million deadline day bid accepted for the 21-year-old winger who is set to have his medical on Merseyside [Alan Nixon].
Despite this update, BBC journalist Hermon has suggested that these reports are wide of the mark after the Baggies rejected a similar bid in the summer.
Taking to X on 3 February, he said: “Reports that West Brom have accepted a £10m bid from Everton for Tom Fellows are nonsense.
“The club turned down that figure from Southampton last summer, so why would they accept that now?”

The Toffees are looking to be active on deadline day after going the whole window without making a signing until this point.
Carlos Alcaraz looks likely to become the first addition with a move from Flamengo seemingly on the cards in the coming hours.
The Argentine could be joined by Fellows on deadline day but contrasting reports emerging from Goodison point towards a deal being unlikely.
That would be a blow for David Moyes and Co. given how positive the England under-21 international’s season has been so far.
The Baggies academy product has scored two and assisted ten across just 26 Championship starts which is a useful output, especially for a 21-year-old.
If the L4 club can push this deal over the line, the Albion wideman could prove to be a useful deputy for Dwight McNeil during his spell on the sidelines.
It will now be interesting to see if a deal can be completed or if reports of a deal are actually “nonsense”.
In other Everton news, a late EFL loan exit could be confirmed at Goodison after a medical was completed for a new signing.
