TFG ‘make spectacular decision’, lucrative offer can kickstart new Everton era

The Friedkin Group has already made an unbelievable impression after beginning their reign as Everton owners.

Of course, when you’re following in the footsteps of Farhad Moshiri, that is not at all a difficult thing to achieve, but there is new-found hope on Merseyside.

Replacing Sean Dyche with David Moyes already looks to be a stroke of genius, with the Toffees now unbeaten in three league matches and rising nine points above the relegation zone.

The victories have not been easy games either, having whipped Tottenham into shape before edging past Brighton and demolishing Leicester City at Goodison Park.

Supporters are once again dreaming about what the future holds for their beloved club, and not just moving into the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, but also becoming financially stable.

It is no secret that the Toffees’ winter transfer plans were stifled by PSR restrictions, leading to Carlos Alcaraz being the only signing on a deal until the end of the season, but there’s no shame in that.

The Friedkin Group cannot simply fix everything with the click of a finger but it is clear that plans are being laid out on Merseyside, with a new era just about to begin.

TFG to begin new era after long-awaited Everton takeover

The switch of manager has already endeared the new owners to the majority of the fanbase but their most recent decision is bound to win over some of the bigger sceptics.

According to the Sunday People [2 February, page 47], TFG are readying a “lucrative” deal to keep the long-serving Jordan Pickford in their ranks, which would cement the goalkeeper spot for the coming years.

The proposed deal would see the 30-year-old rewarded with a bumper pay rise, an extra two years on his stay, and create a base for the Toffees to work on for the future.

While Pickford’s character has split opinion in the Premier League, the spectacular decision to reward him and build a future team around him says more than enough about his importance at the club.

He continues to dazzle in between the sticks, and with only Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels boasting more clean sheets this season, many fans would hate to think where the team would be without him.

Only Arsenal’s David Raya beat him to the Golden Glove award last term.

If TFG are going to make the funds available for a rebuild under Moyes, Pickford definitely needs to remain a constant figure as the new Everton era begins.
