Jordan Pickford set for lucrative Everton offer as TFG ready overhaul

The Friedkin Group are readying a new lucrative deal to keep Jordan Pickford at Everton, according to the Sunday People.

The newspaper reported [2 February, page 47] that while the goalkeeper still has two years left on his current deal, the new owners want to add to that in a deal which includes a pay rise.

Funds are set to be made available for new boss David Moyes as part of a summer overhaul, it is understood, with Pickford’s future under consideration amid a number of players out of contract.

Jordan Pickford’s future set to continue at Everton

The England international has become a fan-favourite at Goodison Park, and more importantly than that, he has become an integral part of the squad under any manager since his arrival.

He is now in his eighth season on Merseyside, having joined from Sunderland in 2015, and that kind of commitment and loyalty does not go unnoticed at his level.

It is truly incredible to see a star want to pledge so many of his years to a club, something which is rarely seen in the Premier League now, and supporters will be excited about Pickford’s potential extension.

Despite a rocky start to the 2024/25 campaign, only Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels has more clean sheets than the Toffees’ stop-stopper, with Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski finding their form again.

The trio were vital to the Toffees’ survival last season, with only a handful of clubs keeping more clean sheets, and that looks to be the same this term as they move nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Pickford’s abilities in between the sticks are, undoubtedly, key to the Merseysiders’ survival in the Premier League, and TFG will be endearing themselves to the fans by readying a new offer for him.

There will be plenty of business to do in the summer so it makes sense to start planning ahead.
