Everton star Beto lauded by pundit after ‘Sensational’ development

Michael Ball has been left blown away by Everton striker Beto after what he’s seen of him recently.

The 27-year-old scored against Liverpool and once again found the back of the net against Crystal Palace over the weekend.

He’s bagged four goals in his last three Premier League games as he also scored a brace against Leicester City.

Beto is finally showing his worth for Everton

Beto’s recent performances for the Toffees have been nothing short of top drawer, and much of this transformation can be attributed to the arrival of David Moyes, whose management style has unlocked the striker’s potential in a way Sean Dyche never could.

This has seen former Toffees full-back Michael Ball wax lyrical over him in his recent Liverpool Echo column.

Ball wrote: “It was also a great day for Beto who has mostly been a bit-part player coming on for cameos since his arrival. He’s been put in a bracket, probably wrongly, to being like Oumar Niasse, saying that he just comes on and causes mayhem.

“He’s had a run of games, knowing he’s going to be on the teamsheet the following week and a chance to get some match rhythm. When you’ve had an injury or you’re on the bench, you’ve got to train twice as hard because the lads in front of you are getting more minutes and you’re always playing catch-up in terms of sharpness.

“Beto has got a clear head now that he’s got a run of games to prove to himself, the manager and the fans that he’s got the ability to be here. His passion is there, you can see it really means a lot to him to put that royal blue jersey on.

“His job is to put the ball in the back of the net and that’s what he’s doing. His finishing and composure in front of goal over the last few games has been sensational.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence has given Beto the chance to thrive

Under Dyche, the striker often appeared a shadow of himself, confined to a rigid, long-ball system that forced him into a scrapping, chaotic role far removed from his natural game.

He struggled to find the rhythm, often relegated to bit-part cameos and battling to adapt to a style that didn’t suit his strengths.

However, Moyes’ return has brought a new lease of life, granting the 27-year-old the freedom and confidence to showcase his true abilities.

With a guaranteed run of games following Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury, the Guinea-Bissau international has developed the match sharpness and mental clarity needed to excel, knowing his place in the starting eleven is secure.

Moyes’ approach has allowed Beto to play with instinct, evident in his sensational finishing and composure in one-on-one situations, where he now anticipates the ball’s arrival, perfects his touch and buries it with precision.

His passion for the jersey shines through and the fans certainly have taken notice, appreciating his commitment and flair.

Moyes’ trust has removed the shackles, enabling Beto to flourish as the clinical, intelligent striker the Merseyside outfit had hoped for when they signed him, proving that sometimes, all a player needs is the right manager to believe in them.
