Everton transfer news: Award-winning attacking midfielder now on radar

Everton have begun planning for the summer transfer window and have turned their attention to an attacking midfielder who was previously on their radar.

David Moyes has taken over from Sean Dyche and the Scotsman is understood to be keen on reinforcements in the coming months.

The Toffees are set to move into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and are likely to still be a Premier League club.

Everton want to sign Giorgi Chakvetadze

The Toffees were linked with a move to sign Watford attacking midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze ahead of the January transfer window.

However, that move did not materialise and he ended up staying put at the Championship outfit.

Now FootballLeagueWorld sources claim that the Blues retain an interest in signing the Georgia international in the summer.

The 25-year-old has won the Player of the Year in Georgia back in 2018 and has also been bestowed with the Order of Honour award.

David Moyes can bring the best out of Giorgi Chakvetadze

Chakvetadze would be an astute signing for the Toffees, bringing dynamism and creativity to a midfield craving flair.

The 25-year-old Georgian, currently shining at Watford in the Championship, has demonstrated exceptional technical ability

Under Moyes, the Toffees have adopted an aggressive, attacking style and Chakvetadze’s ability to carry the ball, ride challenges and deliver precise passes would complement this shift.

His versatility, given he’s capable of playing centrally or on the flanks, offers tactical flexibility and this is vital for a squad facing a potential overhaul with a number of players set to leave in the summer.

Defensively, the Georgian recovers the ball well in the attacking third, aligning with Moyes’ high-pressing ethos.

While Watford may play hardball in letting him go, Everton’s prospective ownership under Dan Friedkin could fund this investment, signalling ambition ahead of the Bramley-Moore Dock move.

Chakvetadze’s nine goals in 35 Georgia caps and Euro 2024 experience prove he can handle pressure, making him a long-term asset at 25.

For a Toffees side aiming to climb the Premier League table, he’d inject quality and excitement, bridging their current grit with future aspirations.
