Everton star a ‘disaster’ as Martin Keown reacts to development before Arsenal draw

Martin Keown slammed Armando Broja live on TNT Sports before Everton faced Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

Goodison Park hosted Mikel Arteta’s team on 5 April as they looked to bounce back after their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Beto has been David Moyes’ go-to number nine in recent matches, with the Guinea-Bissau striker starting once again against the Gunners.

Goalscoring has been an issue for the Blues over the years, and their issues were once again on show as they only managed to score from the spot in the 1-1 draw against the North Londoners.

Broja injuries a disaster as Keown reacts to Everton goalscoring woes

Broja’s fitness issues have been a disaster for the Merseyside outfit this season, Kewon says.

The ex-Arsenal defender reacted to the lack of goals scored by the Toffees, citing Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s record as an example.

Keown admits injuries have played a big part in the English striker’s struggles along with the Chelsea loanee at Goodison Park.

Speaking on TNT Sport (5 April, 11:57), the former centre-back said: “I think the one area, though, is the goals they don’t score. 71 goals from Calvert-Lewin in eight seasons is simply not enough. And I know he’s suffered with injuries. He’s been so unfortunate.

“Broja has been another disaster from an injury point of view.”

Moyes needs attacking reinforcements at Bramley-Moore Dock

Moyes could potentially be without Calvert-Lewin next summer, with the 28-year-old’s current contract at the Blues expiring at the end of the season.

The English centre-forward has been injury-prone at the Merseyside outfit over the years, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see The Friedkin Group (TFG) let him leave as a free agent.

Broja is another attacker who hasn’t enjoyed his time at Goodison Park in recent months, suffering consistent injury issues.

Richarlison may return to Everton soon as the Brazilian star’s future at Tottenham is up in the air after moving to the North London outfit in 2022.

The former Fluminense forward enjoyed his spell at the Merseyside outfit but hasn’t been able to fulfil his potential at Spurs.

While Moyes has managed to improve the Toffees’ attacking output since replacing Sean Dyche, it still hasn’t been good enough.

TFG will evidently need to back the Scottish manager in the upcoming transfer window, and the addition of a reliable goalscorer will arguably be the priority.

Youssef Chermiti has been another disappointing addition as he’s been on the sidelines for most of his time at Goodison Park, highlighting the errors made over the years.
