Everton have played their last traditional Saturday afternoon fixture at Goodison Park, with the draw against Ipswich as emotional as ever.

The Toffees have one game left in the Old Lady, as they welcome Southampton to Merseyside on 18 May, a lunchtime kick-off on the Sunday.

While tributes and celebrations take place at Goodison, one eye will be on Bramley-Moore Dock and its huge potential for the Friedkin Group beyond this season.

Everton hit by Bramley-Moore Dock blunder

It was reported from the last test event that the new stadium didn't have a coaches' room, with "last-minute" work needed to rectify the issue.

Dan Plumley admits that it is "strange" given the amount of work put into building new stadiums, but it was always likely that some issues would appear.

The football finance expert insisted that's what the test events are for, though, with any issues ironed out well ahead of the official move-in day.

"You can certainly view that two ways, that is what your test events are for on the positive side of things," Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.

"Oversights like that, if that is the case, seems to be strange in that regard that you've not put that in, in the first place, so listen, it's been a long project from start to finish with all the other things going on, it was always likely that there would be some things to iron out.

"It did seem like a strange one that wasn't in place within the first plans."

Everton Stadium to unlock massive opportunities

The Friedkins will be desperate to get everything spot on at the new stadium, with new doors already opened, and with endless opportunities for added revenue.

With European Championship games already set in the future and the upcoming Rugby League Ashes Test between England and Australia, it shows the possibilities.
