Everton are set for a substantial overhaul, with a wealth of high-profile names set to depart the Merseyside club.

The futures of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Seamus Coleman, Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane, however, were to be decided.

With their contracts due to expire at the end of June, one of those names now appears set to leave the Toffees.

Calvert-Lewin set to depart Everton amid conflicting contract reports

Everton have some key decisions to make over the coming weeks, with several players at risk of leaving the Premier League club.

Gueye has been a regular member of Moyes' first team, while Calvert-Lewin, Keane, and Coleman all featured regularly last campaign.

Moyes previously spoke of his intention to retain captain Coleman, who has enjoyed a remarkable 16 years in the North West.

As for Calvert-Lewin, Keane and Gueye, they all face more uncertain futures amid the impending expiration of their contracts.

Now, it seems that Calvert-Lewin will depart when his existing deal expires on 30 June, despite Everton announcing in their retained list announcement on Monday (9 June) that talks were still ongoing.

The Times' Paul Joyce reported soon after that announcement that a contract extension previously offered to Calvert-Lewin was taken off the table after a change in management structure within Everton's hierarchy.

Calvert-Lewin decision the right call for the Toffees

There was once a time when Calvert-Lewin was being linked with the likes of Real Madrid, but those times have fizzled out.

The striker had been a goalscoring sensation, but due to injuries, he has never quite fulfilled his potential.

With his contract up this summer, Everton had a decision to make on the 28-year-old, and it seems they have made the correct decision.

The Toffees possess quality up front in the form of Iliman Ndiaye, and Beto, but they will want to strengthen.

Liam Delap would have been a pipe dream, but his links to Everton highlight the ambition Moyes has this window.

While many will wonder what might have been for Calvert-Lewin, his departure must be regarded as the right call.
