Everton supporters have every right to feel excited about the summer after years of underwhelming transfer windows.

The Toffees finished last season on a high thanks to David Moyes and have been linked with several significant names ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Indeed, Everton have already completed the signing of Carlos Alcaraz, who joined permanently after his loan spell on Merseyside.

Now, the Friedkin Group are keen on securing a deal for Alcaraz's compatriot Nicolas Tagliafico, who could come at an absolute steal.

Everton eye deal for World Cup winner Tagliafico

Alcaraz ended the season in fine fettle against Newcastle United, scoring a remarkable header past Nick Pope.

Now that Everton have tied up that deal, they can pursue other targets and have already been linked with substantial names.

Another player who Everton are keen on is Lyon left-back Tagliafico, who is out of contract at the end of June, according to the Daily Mail (16 June).

The 32-year-old was a regular fixture for the Ligue 1 outfit last season, making 24 appearances for Les Gones.

Tagliafico has been a success on the grandest of stages, having lifted the World Cup with Argentina in 2022.

With his current deal set to expire, he will be available for a free transfer this summer, and the Toffees are keen.

Tagliafico would be a smart signing for the Toffees

Everton are set to lose some experienced players this summer and will need to replace them.

Ashley Young, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Asmir Begovic are a handful of players departing, and there will likely be more.

That means that Tagliafico is an appealing option for the North West club, considering he would come at no cost, as the Friedkins look for several new signings.

Moyes already has Vitaliy Mykolenko at left-back, but will need to add competition in that position.

At 32, Tagliafico is a player with vast experience and has played at the highest level with Ajax and Lyon.

A move to Everton will be an appealing option for the Argentine, and he could be set to follow in Alcaraz's footsteps.
