Michael Keane set for new contract

Michael Keane’s future at Everton has been heavily speculated this summer.

As it stands, the former England international is set to become a free agent in July, with his contract expiring.

This has seen clubs such as Wrexham linked with a move for Keane, with his role in the Toffees’ first team diminishing.

However, reports now suggest that Everton are in talks with the Keane over a new contract.

Moyes is hopeful that this will help free up funds for what would have gone on his replacement.

Fred linked with Premier League return

On the transfer front, Everton are in need of a new midfielder.

The Toffees are currently light on this position and have identified multiple potential targets.

One of these is Fred, with Everton keen on signing the Fenerbahce star.

The Brazilian has played in the Premier League before and enjoyed five years at Manchester United.

Here, he won the Carabao Cup before he made his move to Turkey in 2023, where he has remained ever since.

Everton want to sign two strikers

Another position Everton are short on this summer is strikers.

Dominic Clavert-Lewin will end his stay at the Toffees this summer as he was confirmed that he would not be signing a new deal.

Therefore, Beto is Everton’s first-team striker, but he has remained largely inconsistent in Merseyside.

As a result, Sky Sports have reported that Moyes wants to sign not only one, but two strikers this summer to end their attacking woes.

Reported Mark McAdam said: “We know they’re looking for two strikers off the back of this [Calvert-Lewin] decision. Two number nines are going to be key. Beto is there, but there is interest in him.

“Also, a left-back and a number six. There could be five or six new faces for David Moyes, and the key thing is two strikers.”

Tete reaches Fulham agreement

Another player that Everton have been linked with is Kenny Tete.

The right-back has been a regular for Fulham in the Premier League and is also a Dutch international.

Therefore, with his contract expiring this summer, Moyes has seen him as an ideal signing to end their issues at right-back.

However, their pursuit of the 29-year-old now appears to be in vain, with Fulham reportedly close to a contract agreement with Tete

Therefore, Everton will likely need to move on to other targets if they are to sign a new right-back.
