Calvert-Lewin taking liberties as Milan salary demands emerge after Everton exit
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still looking for a new club after leaving Everton.
The former England striker has been linked with moves to several Premier League sides, including Manchester United most recently. Still, nothing has materialised from this speculation.
Now he’s being tracked by one of the biggest clubs in Italy. A move to Serie A might on the cards instead.

Calvert-Lewin’s Milan wage demands emerge
AC Milan had been linked with a move for Calvert-Lewin back in January, when it was possible for them to offer a pre-contract.
That interest from the multiple-time European champions cooled down pretty quickly. At the time, it was still thought Everton could thrash out personal terms and offer him a new deal.
That didn’t happen though, and Calcio Mercato (25 July) now reports that Milan are prepared to come “back with a vengeance”.
AC Milan sporting director Igli Tare is reported to be a huge admirer of the striker, although his wage demands could be a stumbling block that ruins any chances of the move happening.
Calvert-Lewin reportedly wants at least £100,000 a week to move to Italy.
It’s these demands that stopped Everton offering him a new deal, and they have probably prevented other Premier League clubs from signing him as well.

Calvert-Lewin will need to be patient to find a club willing to meet his demands
Calvert-Lewin’s wage demands will raise eyebrows given his recent track record.
While he was once one of England’s most promising strikers, injuries have severely hampered his form.
Over the past three seasons, Calvert-Lewin hit 13 goals in 82 appearances for Everton. That’s hardly the return expected from a striker commanding £100,000+ a week.

At his peak, such demands might have been justified.
Nowadays, clubs will be cautious about giving in to these demands, knowing that his fitness record and poor recent form make him a gamble.
You’d think Calvert-Lewin might lower his demands for the chance to play at the famous San Siro stadium every week. Apparently not.
Unless he can prove he’s back to his best, it’s difficult to see any clubs outside Saudi Arabia or maybe the United States agreeing to these terms.
