Everton now look certain to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Toffees have been in dire need of new signings this summer, and the impending addition of the 26-year-old is no doubt a positive.

The midfielder only moved to Chelsea last summer from Leicester City, but struggled to cement a spot in the first team.

However, the signing could prove to be transformative for David Moyes’ side this season.

Dewsbury-Hall’s attacking stats dwarf the rest of Everton’s squad

Many of Everton’s fanbase may be unsure about the signing of Dewsbury-Hall

The Englishman only played in 13 Premier League matches last season, with the majority of his appearances coming in the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.

However, when he did play, the 26-year-old impressed, with his stats far better than many of Everton’s current players.

According to Fbref (5 August), over the past year, Dewsbury-Hall has proved himself to be sensational at creating and finishing off attacks.

  • Dewsbury-Hall is set to join Everton for £25m
  • The midfielder struggled to break into the first-team at Chelsea.
  • Dewsbury-Hall previously had an impressive spell at Leicester City

Per 90 minutes, the midfielder has been scoring 0.35 non-penalty goals from just 2.11 shots.

His expected assists are an impressive 0.13, with his shot-creating actions sitting at 4.76.

Dewsbury-Hall’s passing completion is also high at 87.4 per cent, making 8.19 progressive passes and 2.47 progress carries per 90 minutes.

This is combined with 1.32 successful take-ons and 2.29 touches in the attacking box.

Dewsbury-Hall has extremely well-rounded stats compared to Everton's squad

Many of these are well above the average in Everton’s squad last season, which only managed a measly 42 goals in 38 Premier League matches.

If this output is added to the team, it would no doubt do wonders in finally ending the Toffees' attacking woes.

Moyes needs to quickly end the Toffees’ attacking woes

Going into the new campaign, Dewsbury-Hall cannot be the last attacking signing Everton makes.

While Thierno Barry has also been signed at the Toffees, the attacker may need time to adapt to England.

Given the losses in the attack already, more additions must be made.

Hopefully, another striker is brought in before the transfer window closes.
