Everton could sign £20m ace and two others instead as John McGinn bid rejected

Everton have been linked with John McGinn throughout the summer transfer window.

David Moyes has been keen to link up with his fellow Scotsman at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

However, Everton have now seen a £18million bid rejected for McGinn, with Villa issuing a hands-off warning for their captain.

As a result, the Toffees may have to look elsewhere if they want another midfielder, with Goodison News suggesting three alternative targets to McGinn that Moyes should now prioritise.

Josh Brownhill is now a free agent after he was released from Burnley.

The Clarets’ former captain led the side to Premier League promotion last season, netting 18 times and picking up six assists in the Championship.

Everton have been heavily linked with Brownhill, and now they should look at making an offer.

The midfielder has plenty of Premier League experience and could provide plenty of goals.

On top of this, like McGinn, he has plenty of leadership qualities Moyes can utilise.

Another midfielder Moyes should consider is Matt O’Riley.

The Dane has not had the best time since he moved from Celtic to Brighton and has struggled for fitness.

Everton have been linked to O’Riley, but rumours surrounding the 24-year-old have since gone cold.

If Moyes can return the midfielder to his previous form, he would be an excellent buy.

The Dane was easily one of the best players in Scotland for years, and at 24 years old, he could be a star in the Toffees’ team for years.

Hayden Hackney

Going into the Championship, Hayden Hackney has been excellent for Middlesbrough.

The 23-year-old has now established himself as one of the most exciting players in the second tier and was part of the England Under-21s squad that won the Euros this summer.

After a move to Ipswich Town collapsed, Everton have been linked with a move for Hackney.

Moyes should not hesitate to make an offer as the midfielder has plenty of potential.

On top of this, Hackney is available for only £20m, which makes him a bargain buy.
