Everton find Thierno Barry perfect partner after Franculino transfer developments

David Moyes wants more signings at Everton, and it appears they are making efforts to instantly accommodate his wishes.

The Scot has voiced his frustrations in pre-season about a lack of additions, with his side seemingly not ready for the Premier League.

However, Jack Grealish looks to be keen on a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, which would be a headline acquisition.

Now, the Toffees are ready to land Thierno Barry a striking partner after developments around Franculino.

Everton want to seal Franculino transfer now

Barry was full of praise for the Hill Dickinson Stadium after appearing in Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Roma.

The Frenchman is one of the more significant arrivals in the North West this summer, having arrived from Villarreal for £27.5million.

He is expected to lead the line for Moyes this season and will likely be given his Premier League debut against Leeds United.

While he could play as a sole striker, reports suggest that the Merseyside club are looking for another forward.

That is because Everton are interested in FC Midtjylland hitman Franculino, according to Matteo Moretto (10 August).

However, they are not the only ones keen on the 21-year-old, as RB Leipzig and recent opponents Roma are also interested.

The Guinea-Bissau international has already scored six goals in three league games at the start of the campaign, with another in the Europa League and is valued at around £17.3m.

Furthermore, the journalist reports that Franculino is one of the names to watch at the end of the transfer window.

Moyes needs more firepower for the Premier League

Only the three relegated sides scored fewer goals than Everton last season.

Moyes currently has Beto, Barry, and Yousseff Chermiti as recognised frontmen, although the former has been linked with a move away from the Premier League.

Barry could take time to settle in England, and another signing could help take the pressure off him.

Moreover, signing Franculino would allow the 62-year-old to play a forward alongside Barry, giving him another option.

As it stands, it feels as though the Merseyside club are not quite ready for the new season, meaning more deals need to be done.
